How long you’ve been a part of HCPP:
This will be my 5th year with HCPP.

Why you wanted to join HCPP:
I joined this club to share my passion for piano in particular with kids. The idea of empowering students through music really speaks to me. When I heard about this group, I immediately knew I wanted to be a part of it.

Favorite piano piece:
First Arabesque – Debussy

Fun fact:
Growing up I used to be allergic to chocolate but I outgrew my allergy! Hurray Chocolate!

4th year – Biological Science

How long you’ve been a part of HCPP:
This will be my 4th year.

Why you wanted to join HCPP:
To give back by teaching kids how to play the piano.

Nuvole Bianche

Fun fact:
My feet don’t always touch the ground when I play the piano.

How long you’ve been a part of HCPP:
This will be my 2nd year with HCPP.

Why you wanted to join HCPP:
I joined HCPP because I believe we should all use our position undergrad students to give back and developing the greater Calgary community. HCPP’s vision resonates with me as I believe families should be able to pursue any opportunities regardless of their social and economic status. Plus playing the piano is pretty cool and I wish I could!

Bill Evans Trio – Autumn Leaves

Fun fact:
I can touch my nose with my tongue!

4th year – Actuarial Science

How long you’ve been a part of HCPP:
This is my 4th year.

Why you wanted to join HCPP:
I like the idea of helping kids learn music and how to play piano, who weren’t financially able to themselves.

Favourite piano piece:
River Flows in You by Yiruma

Fun fact:
I’m not even a pianist. I’m a French horn player.

Year & faculty:
3rd Year – Neuroscience

How long you’ve been a part of HCPP:
This will be my 3rd year.

Why you wanted to join HCPP:
Music was where I first learned many of my major life lessons and the value of hard work, and I wanted to be part of something that would help kids do the same. Plus, I’ve always wanted to teach!

Favourite piano piece:
4’33” by John Cage

Fun fact:
I also play the flute (which I’m decent at) and guitar (which I’m horrible at).

This is my 5th year.

Why you wanted to join HCPP:
I love teaching little kids piano and I find it very rewarding!

Fun fact:
I love painting everything, things like nails, canvases, mugs, and more!

This will be my 4th year.

Why you wanted to join HCPP:
I joined HCPP because it is an excellent way to both give back to the community and nurture an interest and appreciation for music in youth.

Kittens and puppies will bring world peace

How long you’ve been a part of HCPP:
This is my 1st year.

Why you wanted to join HCPP:
I am passionate about music and believe it can have an incredibly positive impact on all who experience it. I also love to work with kids and enjoy teaching them piano!

My current favourite piano piece is Pachelbel’s Cannon – I can’t get enough!

Fun fact:
I am a huge baseball fan even though I’ve never played the sport. Go Jay’s Go!

How long you’ve been a part of HCPP:
This is my 2nd year.

Why you wanted to join HCPP:
After I stopped taking piano lessons, I wanted to find a way to continue my journey with piano. When I saw this club at “clubs week,” I was instantly interested in it. I love working with children and teaching them reminds me of how I fell in love with piano when I was their age.

Anything by David L. McIntyre

Fun fact:
I learned how to do a front flip this summer!
